What is 4-H Camp?When kids are empowered to use their voices and pursue their passions, their skills grow. 4-H camps are a great way for military-connected youth to strengthen their resilience, leadership, and teamwork skills in a supportive, safe environment away from home.
4-H offers camping in a variety of formats. Some camps are designed for local youth, others are open to youth statewide or even nationwide. Who is 4-H camp for?At certain camps, your military child or teen will camp alongside non-military youth. Other camps are offered specifically for military-connected youth.

High Adventure Camps for
Military-Connected Families
Would you like to spend time whitewater rafting, hiking, rock climbing, winter camping, backpacking, exploring the environment, running ropes courses, or practicing wilderness skills? Military teens (13-18 years old) of Active Duty, Guard, Reserve, and Retired personnel) have an opportunity to participate at little to no cost. These high energy, high adventure, and high experience camps are planned across the United States. Camps may have funding available to assist with transportation costs.
Local 4-H Camping Opportunities
4-H programs offering camping in the community and statewide. Each state has requirements for participation and offerings. Some offer day camps as well as overnight camping experiences. Camps may include field trips, outdoor activities, or even theme to a specific interest.
