Frequently Asked Questions
Conversations with Military-Connected Youth (and Adults)

We are excited to offer virtual town hall conversations for military-connected youth and the adults who work with them. The project is a collaboration between the J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development, a public service and outreach unit at the University of Georgia and the 4-H Military Partnership project at North Carolina State University. We will use Zoom as our platform for participation and we need each participant, youth or adult, to be on an individual device. Our discussion is not designed for multiple viewers on one device. During the conversation, you will share with your peers about your experiences during the last two years. You will have a peer facilitator and, if you are in a youth room, adult chaperones who also serve as note takers.
What do I need to participate virtually?
Each participants needs will connect via Zoom from a personal device (phone, tablet, or computer). We prefer that each person is on a singular device rather than being paired with another or part of a large group watching together.
Who can participant?
Virtual town hall teen participants should be members of a military-connected family and include those who(se):
What if I can't stay the entire session?
We hope each participant will select a session where he or she can participate for the full event; however, you are able to leave at any time should you have another commitment or want to end your participation in the conversations.
Are you recording the session?
Each session is recorded to assist in the collection of data. However, the information collected will not be stored with your name and information associated with it. Additionally, we may take photos during the session for 4-H to use at a later time. Again, your full name will not be associated with your photo.
