Frequently Asked Questions Experiential Facilitator Training
We are excited to offer Training Wheels' Experiential Facilitation training for Extension professionals working with military connected youth. The program is offered April 4 - 6 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Applications are accepted from any Extension professional working with military-connected youth. The application portal is open now. Accepted participants will be notified no later than February 15th. Additional participants may be added at the discretion of the instructors.
Who can attend? Any Extension faculty or staff members who work with military-connected families. This includes those who are near installations and those with geographically dispersed families in their area. Do I need to attend the entire session? Yes! Participants need to commit to the full event. We will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday and conclude at 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday we will meet from 8:00-5:00 p.m. Participants must commit to participating in full each day. What does it cost to attend? The workshop sessions are provided at no cost for participants and include breakfast and lunch each training day as well as a facilitation starter pack and program book. Additionally, lodging in the conference hotel will be provided for participants from the CYFAR PDTA grant and will not be an additional cost to participants. Participants are responsible for their own travel to and from the training site in Charlotte, N.C. as well as other expenses related to travel. Do I book my own hotel room? No, NCSU will book rooms based on your request for occupancy and arrival and departure. Your room will be direct-billed and paid by grant funds. You will need a credit card to secure incidentals at the hotel but you will not be pay for lodging Monday - Thursday. Where can I learn more about the training? We are offering Training Wheels Experiential Facilitation 101 as certified Training Wheels Experiential Facilitation Trainers. At the close of the training you will receive a certification of completion for the Experiential Facilitation Training and can use of all activities and information in your programming. You will not be certified to train others to be Experiential Facilitators, however. I have a conflict on August. Will another training be scheduled? August 2022 is currently our only session on the calendar.
