Military readiness through 4-H positive youth development for youth, families, and communities

4-H Camps for Military-Connected Youth

4-H offers camping in a variety of formats. Some camps are designed for local programs, others are open state or even nationwide.
Several camps are also offered especially for military-connected youth. To learn more about these opportunities
visit their websites and reach out to the contacts included.  In some cases, camps fill up
quickly so be sure to check registration details. 

High Adventure Camps for
​Military-Connected Families

Would you like to spend time whitewater rafting, hiking, rock climbing, winter camping, backpacking, exploring the environment, running ropes courses, or practicing wilderness skills?  Military teens (13-18 years old) of Active Duty, Guard, Reserve, and Retired personnel) have an opportunity to participate  at little to no cost. These high energy, high adventure, and high experience camps are planned across the United States. Camps may have funding available to assist with transportation costs.

Camping for Air Force-Connected Youth

Several states are offering camping opportunities specifically for Air Force-connected youth.  While ages and themes for camps may differ, most camps are open to  Active Duty, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve families.  Camps include a variety of activities from outdoor experiences to creating opportunities to find your spark and passion.

Local 4-H Camping
Opportunities

4-H programs offering camping  in the community and statewide. Each state has requirements for participation and offerings. Some offer day camps as well as overnight camping experiences. Camps may include field trips, outdoor activities, or even theme to a specific interest. To learn more about your state's 4-H camping programs, contact your state 4-H military liaison and ask for more detail about possible camping opportunities open to military connected youth.

Several states are offering camping opportunities specifically for Army-connected youth and even have opportunities specifically for Wounded Warrior families and families experiencing deployment. Camps include a variety of activities from outdoor experiences to creating opportunities to find your spark and passion.
