Julia Tateoka, Josh Martin, and Meggan Callister, Utah State University The presentation highlights the partnership between Utah National Guard Youth Programs and 4-H/Extension to provide gardening education for military-connected youth across Utah. Through hands-on garden experiences held at Extension offices, armories, and other locations, youth learn practical gardening skills while building confidence, responsibility, teamwork, and resilience. 4-H and Extension staff provide the educational foundation, while the Utah National Guard helps connect families and youth to meaningful local opportunities. Together, the program helps young people grow food, skills, and community. |
